Financial Archiving Kit User Guide

The financial archive kit is an essential part of an effective working environment for “organisation name”, and will inshore that all data will be proper ally and safely stored. This guide provides the user with all the information required to install / setup the financial archive kit.

Equipment Provided

• a high-capacity, removable media storage device that connects to a USB port
• a USB cable
• a floppy disk containing drivers for the storage device
• five blank high-capacity disks
• a floppy disk containing a customised archiving utility
• a user guide.

Installation

First check that you have all of the components listed above.

insert the floppy labeled driver and install the drivers, in your operating system doesn’t have auto run or it is disabled use the run command A:/driver.exe, change driver value according to your computer’s configuration. note: if installing on a Macintosh an external floppy drive is required.

Follow on screen instructions to complete the installation

Reboot the computer

Connect power and USB cables to the exrternal peripheral device. note both cables are designed to only fit a specific port on the device the USB plug varies from the computer connection to the device

Check that the device is working properly, it should appear in the Device Manager in the System Properties

If not contact the IT department on “phone number”, if so continue the installation

Eject the Driver Floppy and enter the Archiving Utility floppy, in your operating system doesn’t have auto run or it is disabled use the run command A:/driver.exe, change driver value according to your computer’s configuration. note: if installing on a Macintosh an external floppy drive is required.

Follow on screen instructions to complete installation

When the utility is opened it will automatically scan for the device, if the device was not found contact the IT department on “phone number”, if so then begin usage of the utility

The Utility Quick Overview

The utility provides the user with the ability to archive financial data onto a high-capacity disk using the device just installed. The utility is simple enough to use insert an blank disk into the USB device and activate the utility select the desired data for archiving and execute, not this utility is specialised to the company financial database and therefore is no need for overcomplicated fiddling with properties meaning that the utility can be used by all levels of employees.
